Fashion Design + Illustration (Edmund Burke School Summer Class)

Please note, this course is being taught at The Edmund Burke School 4101 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008

It is open to Middle and High School Students from any school. Students do not need to attend The Edmund Burke School in order to participate in this summer course.

Fashion Design + Illustration is an introductory course, no specific experience is required.

This course is perfect for students who are thinking of applying to a design school that requires a portfolio interview or for those who just want to learn more about fashion in general.

WHAT THE COURSE INCLUDES

Students will be given a set of 4 Prismacolor markers, a watercolor palate, a brush tip marker, and a protective binder in which to keep their sketches. At the end of their course, students will also be given a bound and printed copy of their sketches and inspiration board along with the digital files.

This course is for the student’s own personal development. It focuses on women’s fashion design.

Description

Fashion Design + Illustration Syllabus:  This course is for the student’s own personal development. It focuses on women’s fashion design. This course covers  Fashion Illustration & Fabric Print Design.

Fashion Illustration : In-class sketching and demonstrations, painting and coloration techniques, Croqui (fashion figure) development, drawing faces, final assignment: One complete collection (9-10 designs), inspiration page, color palate, title page

Fabric Print Design: Final Assignment: Develop 2 fabric samples (one abstract and one nature-inspired) and three designs to accompany each sample.

There are two weeks that this course is available. Please select the one that works best for you.

Session 1: June 18- June 22 (9am-3pm) *Must enroll on or before midnight on June 1, 2018

Session 2 (CANCELLED) : June 25- June 29 (9am-3pm) *Must enroll on or before midnight on June 8, 2018

CANCELLATION POLICY 

If a student withdraws prior to the final registration date for their selected session (Session 1: June 1, 2018, Session 2: June 8, 2018) they will receive a refund for 75% of their tuition.

If a student withdraws from the course after the final registration date for their selected session (Session 1: June 1, 2018, Session 2: June 8, 2018), no refund will be given.

This course requires a minimum enrollment of 5 students or more. If this minimum is not met, we reserve the right to cancel the course at the Edmund Burke School. If the course is cancelled due to the minimum enrollment not being met, we will offer the enrolled students the option to participate in the course at an alternative location (the Elaya Vaughn by Kate Pankoke showroom located at 908 Pennsylvania Ave. SE, Washington, DC 20003). If the course is cancelled due to the minimum enrollment not being met and the student is unable or unwilling to participate in the course at the alternative location listed above, we will issue a full refund.
