Please note, this course is being taught at the 4th Floor Workspace in the Midtown Five building located at 125 NE 32nd St. Miami, FL 33137.
Basic Pattern Making & Construction is an introductory course. It is perfect for people who are thinking of applying to a design school that requires a portfolio interview or for those who just want to learn more about fashion in general. The course is a total of 16 hours divided into 2 hour classes. Students will be supplied with muslin and paper to develop their patterns. Students will be responsible for supplying the fabric and notions for their final garment.

This course is for the student’s own personal development. It focuses on women’s fashion design.
This course covers Pattern Development & Garment Construction culminating in a completed garment.

Pattern & Construction Syllabus:
This course is for the student’s own personal development. It focuses on women’s fashion design.
This course covers Pattern Development & Garment Construction.
Pattern Development
Each student will learn the basics of pattern development.
Final Assignment: Design an outfit (top and bottom or dress), Develop a pattern for this outfit.
Basic Construction
Students will use their pattern that they have made to construct their garment for their final assignment.
Muslin is provided, but students are responsible for choosing and purchasing the fabric and notions for their final garment.
The success of the student’s portfolio is entirely dependent on the student’s desire to learn and succeed.

Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays in these intervals:
12:00pm-2:00pm
2:00pm-4:00pm
4:00pm-6:00pm
6:00pm-8:00pm
There are limited spots available per time slot. This course is a total of 8 lessons.
